Project – Tools for Teaching Approaching a design process from different perspectives
The goal of this project was to design a tool to help a teacher ‘orchestrate’ his class. During the process I developed UFP, IT and TC.

My goal for this activity was to get a better idea of Form & Senses and to learn the necessary skills to create physical objects. I think that I succeeded in both.
The workshop taught me basic information about the technical specifications of the Arduino and how to structure the code for this device. I have applied the knowledge and skills I learnt to build the prototype for the project.
I have learnt to use the search planning worksheet of the Information & Expertise Centre, which helps in finding qualitative and useful information. For example: I used boolean search operator and looked in various information databases.
I visited the DDW exhibitions focusing on the ‘how’ of the designs rather than the ‘what’. My way to do that was to talk with the designers about their products and the vision that drives their work.
I spent a lot of time on making the homework, digital tests and studying theory in the book. As a result my mathematical skills improved remarkably. I have more confidence in doing mathematical calculations myself without using my graphing calculator.
I experienced the lectures on the different competences given by DG000 very useful, as they give a nice overview of the various aspects of this studies
By visiting the talk show Topnames and talking with entrepreneurs during the ‘borrel’, I got a little insight in the startup scene in Eindhoven and the application of the competence DBP in practice.
The basic course Physics is for me a logical follow-up to Calculus to get better in mathematical modeling. I can better relate this course than Calculus to my development as a designer, as Physics treats more concrete situations. The exercises…
