User tests were an integral part of the project. We used them to define the best shape for our product, by making form studies that testers used to dance on music. By analyzing their movements we researched what kinds of movements are typical for music with emotions like happiness and sadness. I learned how to set up a user test in a short time and integrate the results in the design process, but I think that by changing some aspects we could have get more information out of these tests. Our user tests were mostly informal and didn’t include things like fit criteria. Our results could have been more convincing if we had done that.

Instead of more knowledge about user testing theory, I focused on learning in practice by setting up tests because that fitted better the project. Next semester I will learn more about the theory of user centered design in my USE learning line.
