In Top Namesa journalists Erwin Blom and Roeland Stekelenburg interview people involved in business and innovation. I was part of the audience in the studio in conference center The Strip on the High Tech Campus. Blom and Stekelenburg talked with local entrepreneurs like Merien ten Houten of network funding startup Leapfunder and Imke Carsouw, CEO of Brainport Development.

The interviews taught me why so many high tech companies are based in Eindhoven; there are strong connections between the local government, businesses and education- and research institutes like TU/e. Another strong aspect of this region is that companies are open to work together. This created an ecosystem of specialized companies that attracts more entrepreneurs in the field of technology.

By visiting the talk show and talking with entrepreneurs during the ‘borrel’ I got a little insight in the startup scene in Eindhoven and the application of the competence DBP in practice.
