Building prototypes with Arduino was something I’ve read a lot about, but I never did it myself. The workshop helped me to overcome my ‘scare to code’ and taught me basic information about the technical specifications of the Arduino and how to structure the code for this device, for example by using void setup() and void loop() commands. I practiced the theory in the workshop with different tutorials. For example blinking a light. (see photo above) I have applied the knowledge and skills I learnt to build the prototype for the project.

What I missed in the workshop was some more info about electronics. That made it difficult for me to explain to other members of the project group what I learned during the programming workshop and vice versa. They did the ‘Getting started with electronics’ workshop, which used partly the same terminology, though with a different meaning. E.g. An output for an Arduino is an input for an electronic circuit.
